Born in Listowel, County Kerry, Ireland on 23rd December 1977, Tim O'Sullivan grew up surrounded by storytelling, music and the deep cultural richness of the Irish southwest. Moving to Derry at age five, he threw himself into every school play and choir he could find — already knowing, even then, that performance was his calling.
The early 1990s brought rock music and changed everything. At thirteen he formed a band with friends, none of whom could play an instrument. He took up the guitar and soon discovered a rare gift: a voice with an extraordinary range — from deep baritone to soaring tenor. For years he refined his craft until, at eighteen, he was confident enough to perform publicly, and hasn't stopped since.
Rugby entered his life at eighteen through Listowel RFC in Kerry, becoming a lifelong passion. It was through the club that Tim was invited to take part in a fundraising production of Daly's Daughters, written by Brendan Kennelly, with the Studs Rugby Drama Group, under the guidance of legendary playwright John B. Keane. Playing the character of Hector Fitzgerald, that night on stage ignited something he couldn't ignore.
Though acting took a back seat while Tim built a career spanning manual labour, construction, farming, radio DJ and presenter, and rugby coaching, the stage never truly left him. It was a personal phone call while on air that changed everything: an invitation from Extras NI to audition for Game of Thrones.
What began as background work on Game of Thrones, The Northman, and Dungeons & Dragons transformed on the set of The Northman, when a director noticed Tim, pulled him aside, and directed him in front of the camera. That moment lit a fire that has never gone out.
Since then Tim has pursued featured roles, dialogue-driven characters, and productions that demand complete physical and dramatic commitment — from the cliffs of Galicia alongside Sergio Pazos in Jakobsland, to major international studios. The warrior, the priest, the chieftain, the killer. Every role, fully inhabited.
Every role demands complete conviction. The warrior, the chieftain, the priest, the killer — each one lives fully or not at all.
